Success!

My computer is fixed (for real this time), thanks to Alan. It turns out that a fan way inside of the computer was broken, and not the one I unintentionally disconnected a couple of months ago. The defective fan has a label on it called "U-Lucky So Cool DC Brushless Fan."

Thanks again.

Please don't feed the Bailey.

And finally, I found an old, out-of-tune piano and just couldn't help myself.

Jamstress (Google it)

As much as I complain about my job, there's still one thing I really like: nice customers. They're few and far between at the new pharmacy, but I still encounter some from time to time. Like today, for instance, my favorite customer asked me to step around the counter to give me a present: a jar of jam that she got in Canada. She gave it to me because I'm "so sweet."

She touched my cheek as she said this, which was somewhat unusual. i can't think of anyone else who has touched my cheek that hasn't seen me naked. Even so, it was a thoughtful gesture, and it will go great with toast.

Here's what I didn't like today: the dude that came in ten minutes before closing. He held a Ziploc bag and asked, "Does this look like lice to you?"

"Does this look like what now?" I asked.

My computer -- I thought it was fixed. It still shuts off automatically and without warning. I'm thinking it has to do with the broken fan/temperature, but i'm not for sure. It's very annoying, especially since I just spent forty dollars on a new router three days ago.

Finally:

I came across this old picture of me and Darby. It must be from a couple years ago. We both have different hair now. The black spots are from when i dropped my phone on the street today, and I imagine they'll be there from now on. Great, right?

For Valerie

Once upon a time, in a little town far, far away (okay, it's actually just 60 miles south of St. Louis on Hwy. 55), there was a video store called Plaza Video.

My sister and I were frequent renters there, and we also liked to put our names down on the poster list. If we particularly enjoyed a movie, we'd ask Barb, the manager, if we could have the poster when she was done with it.

Blind Date was one of our favorites, but I ended up with the poster on my wall. Valerie and I would laugh just looking at the poster, so you can imagine how entertaining the Blake Edwards movie was for us. We also might have been the only two people ever to enjoy A Fine Mess, but that's a different story for a different day.

Side note: after two months, I've finally fixed my computer. It's up and running, and I couldn't be happier.

CAPTIONS (from left to right):

first row --

1. Some kids don't like getting their picture taken. Avery is one of those children.
2. Sidney is another.
3. Avery is the troublemaker. Her older sister wanted to take this picture.
4. Zoe with a beard.

second row --

5. Av relaxing with her mom.
6. I'm sure Ethan will be in the news someday.
7. The Virgie and Wyatt Show, or maybe it's just called Virgie!, I haven't decided yet. Have I mentioned yet that I had my bottom wisdom teeth taken out this morning? I'm a little groggy. And grumpy. No soda or beer for a week. Or KFC bowls.
8. Ethan the Bunny

third row --

9. Kaya wakes me up after a long night of drinking. Shout out to Shavita and Bailey on their return to STL. Extra shout outs to Limecrete and Absolut Billy. Mini-shout out to Shane who showed up at 1am.
10. I'm swollen.
11. New music from Auk arrived in the mail yesterday, so I'm very excited about that. Plus, Lukas and I were listed in the "Thanks" section. That's a first for me. I'll put some stuff up later.
12. I also received a postcard featuring owls from Mink. It's adorable, suitable for framing.

Big picture:
I'm loving the panoramic setting on my cameraphone, even if it looks like my brother has three knees.

Well, I guess I'll get back to my Gatorade and Vicodin. Cheers!
