Life's a show and we all play our parts

It seems as though I'm sadly lacking in the Showtunes Knowledge category. I got schooled last night by Blood Ray and the Gang at the Loading Zone. Everyone seemed to know all the words to songs from Sweet Charity, The Wiz, Hair, etc.

I haven't even seen Evita. And just recently I learned that Patti LuPone was famous way before she played Corky's mother on Life Goes On. And do you KNOW what Kiss of the Spider Woman is about!? Look it up on imdb.com. (Someone named Princess Consuela Banana Hammock has a comment titled "Awesome Book, Horrible Movie," which is kinda what Blood Ray said about it a couple nights ago...suspicious.)

Anyway, seeing songs from Wicked and Chicago was fun. But would it kill the people at the LZ to play a song from the Buffy musical?

And a special thanks to Clipgirl for playing "Thank Goodness" on the way home, and then leaving the car in the street, windows down, music blaring, which allowed to sing and dance all the way to my front door.

Alright, Joe, I'm making it my mission to get you up to speed on musicals. Perhaps I'll start hosting movie musical nights. We can invite the gang, watch a movie musical and drink. Between BloodRay and I we have tons of Broadway cast recordings which will also help. We'll get you through this!

I think we just revive the original musical nights, where we would all get wasted and perform entire shows in your living room.

Don't sell yourself short, young Joseph. You've come a long way in the show tune knowledge department since I've met you, and I'd like to think I had something to do with that. :)

Bless Idina.

Justin: Nice to meet you, too.

Clipgirl and Bradley: Maybe we could start with Evita, then move onto Camp. And when we get to Hair, the two of you can provide a running commentary.

All right, but when we revive the performing musical night, we gotta do Chicago!
